Caffe ESC is a well-loved café nestled on Collins Street in the Docklands, offering a casual yet inviting spot for locals and visitors to kick-start their day or enjoy a leisurely brunch. Its proximity to the ANZ headquarters makes it a popular choice for early risers and professionals looking for quality coffee and breakfast without fuss. The café strikes a balance between comfortable indoor seating and an open-air area, allowing guests to either settle in quietly or watch the Docklands rhythm unfold around them.

Regulars appreciate the consistently rich and full-bodied coffee served here, pairing perfectly with breakfast staples like scrambled eggs, sourdough toast, and more distinctive options such as chilli Parmesan and the marinated lamb and haloumi salad. The kitchen's focus on straightforward, flavorful dishes means breakfasts and brunches tend to be reliably satisfying rather than overly complex or trendy.

The vibe is relaxed but attentive, courtesy of friendly staff who make an effort to provide welcoming service without rushing guests—ideal for those lingering over a morning coffee or catching up with friends. The best time to visit tends to be weekday mornings when the space hums with professionals fueling up for the day, though weekend brunch crowds appreciate the laid-back atmosphere just as much.

Takeaway options also cater well to those on the go, especially given the café’s location in a busy commercial area. Whether you’re local to Docklands or just passing through, Caffe ESC offers a dependable spot to enjoy quality coffee and a solid breakfast in a low-key, comfortable setting.

This café is an absolute gem! The coffee is incredibly rich and full of flavor, definitely some of the best I’ve had in a while. I ordered the eggs Benedict and they were cooked perfectly – so tasty and beautifully presented. The service was excellent as well, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and very welcoming. The whole atmosphere makes it a great spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy a delicious meal. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good coffee, great food, and warm hospitality.

July 2025 update - Back again. No need to change the original review. C’mon in and give some support and Paul and Tess. Great little cafe for those early morning starts. Friendly staff and food was very good. Worth coming from QLD for!

I come to the Docklands each year for a short stay and thoroughly enjoy this little gem for an early breakfast. I have tried other places, but this is the one. The coffee is very good, the scrambled eggs, mushrooms etc delicious. Staff give a nice feel to this place. Enjoy

Located on the corner of the ANZ headquarters, this cafe is open to the public and provides excellent coffee and fantastic service. Friendly staff are happy to have you sit and talk and sip your coffee. Plenty of tables and comfortable whether sitting inside or outdoors.

Let me tell you… This morning I left my home in a hurry, this can be a difficult situation when one is coeliac and hungry, making it a difficult task to find a good restaurant, lucky for me I entered this Cafe, I enjoyed a delicious gluten free breakfast, Corn bread with poached eggs and fresh salsa with avocado!!! Thank you all for the great hospitality and food!!
